In a thrilling showcase of talent and sportsmanship, the male and female football teams of our Lekki campus took the field by storm at the 2023 edition of the Brooke House College Football Academy Tournament. In the girls’ category, where six schools vied for supremacy, Greensprings emerged victorious, clinching the championship title.
Ifeoluwa Owoigbe distinguished herself on the field, earning the title of Most Valuable Player for her outstanding contributions to the team, while Nnena Ejiofor’s exceptional goalkeeping skills earned her the prestigious Best Goalkeeper award.
The boys’ category was no less exciting, with our students securing the second-place position in a closely contested battle. The team’s stellar performance did not go unnoticed, as individual accolades were bestowed upon two standout players. Ayomide Adeniyi was recognized as the Most Valuable Player, for showcasing his exceptional skill and leadership on the field. The title of Best Goalkeeper went to Jamal Olorunfemi, who demonstrated remarkable prowess in defending the goalpost.
The tournament provided an avenue for healthy competition and highlighted the dedication and talent of Greensprings School’s football teams. The boys’ category of the tournament took place at our Lekki campus, while the girls’ category was held in Grange.
In other news, we also participated in the AISEN Under-12 Football Competition, and our students won the gold medal, defeating host CIS Lekki by two goals to one in the final. Fourteen schools took part in the competition.
