World Blood Donor Day was marked on the 14th of June, so our school was invited to a webinar organized by PUNCH Media Foundation, the nonprofit organization established by the publisher of PUNCH newspaper. During the event, Dadeoluwamu Adeniyi, a secondary school student from our Lekki campus, gave a brilliant presentation in which she encouraged Nigerians to embrace the act of free blood donation – instead of paid donation.
Dadeoluwamu talked about the importance of free blood donation using short, relatable stories. She concluded the presentation by reminding listeners that the act of free blood donation is a humanitarian act and one of the ways we can serve our compatriots. Speakers during the event include representatives from the Nigeria Red Cross Society and National Blood Transfusion Service.
