The annual Easter Montessori workshop organized by Greensprings Training College (GTC) Lagos which held between April 16 and 18 remained a successful teaching-learning experience for both the participants and the Faculty.
Participants from Enugu, Anambra, Oyo, Ogun, Delta, Ondo and Lagos States attended the three day workshop at the Greensprings School Anthony Campus. The presentations were practical, interactive and intellectually engaging.
Dr. Nelson Adewale, the Guest speaker who spoke on the theme ‘Preparing the Child for the Future’ held the audience bound by his ‘down to earth’ speech on the roles of educators in the proper education of children.
The following topics were covered this year: Montessori Language curriculum, Cultural Subjects (Geography and Science Experiment in Early Years), Theory of Play and Aerobic session, De Bono’s Thinking Hats and Personal Productivity. Facilitators were drawn externally and internally.
The Executive Director of Greensprings School, Mrs Lai Koiki who graced the opening and closing sessions of the workshop enjoined participants to make impact in their various schools across the country through effective teaching for meaningful educational development of children.
There were positive comments from participants who felt highly empowered on how to properly prepare the Nigerian child for the future.
