When we opened our “career, college and university readiness” centre last year, one of its goals is to equip our students with all the information needed to get their dream jobs and build rewarding careers. To this end, we recently started a career webinar series in which we invite successful veterans in different fields to speak to our students.
This month, we invited Mrs Tinuade Awe, a seasoned lawyer and current Executive Director of Regulation at the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE). During the webinar, which was attended by our parents, students, and staff, she shared her experience about studying law in the university and practising law as a career. Also, she talked about the differences between studying law in Nigeria and studying law abroad.
Furthermore, she encouraged our students who are interested in law not to be afraid of the rigour and vigour of the course. According to her, if our students can cope with the high intensity of the IB Diploma Programme, they would succeed in studying law in the university.
