ACCA Honours Our Student with Outstanding Performance Award at SSFC 2023

In a resounding celebration of academic achievement, Greensprings School is delighted to announce that Olamide Balogun, a student at our Anthony campus, has received the Outstanding Performance Award at the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Secondary School Finance Competition (SSFC) 2023.

Olamide’s journey to this prestigious recognition commenced under the diligent guidance of our Business, Accounting, and Economics teachers. Their collective efforts were directed towards preparing a group of exceptional Year 11 students – Diekolola Odulana, Emiolorun Afolabi, Idorenyen Essien, and Olamide Balogun – for the regional preliminaries of the ACCA SSFC 2023.

The quiz competition, designed to foster awareness and interest in accounting and finance subjects, saw the students exhibit outstanding performance during the initial round, answering all questions correctly. Although they narrowly missed advancing to the national final, the students’ exceptional expertise and dedication did not go unnoticed.

Olamide emerged as a standout participant, showcasing exemplary knowledge in accounting and economics throughout the competition. His exceptional performance culminated in him being honoured with the coveted Outstanding Performance Award at the event finale.

This accolade not only underscores his brilliance but also highlights Greensprings School’s unwavering commitment to cultivating academic excellence and instilling a profound understanding of business and finance among its students.

The students were accompanied to the competition by the teachers — Mr Nwachukwu, Ms Utomwen, and Mrs Omosebi — and Assistant Principal (Academics), Mrs Bosede Agboola.
