On Saturday, 7th December 2024, Greensprings School, Lekki Campus, hosted the highly anticipated U16 Island Schools 3×3 Basketball Tournament, a vibrant gathering of some of Lagos State’s most promising young basketball talents. The tournament was designed to foster grassroots basketball development, inspire youth participation in sports, and uncover future basketball stars.
The competition featured nine schools from across Lagos Island, competing for the top honors in both male and female categories. Greensprings School proudly clinched victory in both categories, further cementing its reputation as a hub for excellence in sports.
Tournament Highlights
The day was filled with thrilling games, showcasing skill, determination, and the spirit of sportsmanship. Greensprings School’s male and female teams emerged as champions, securing gold medals in both categories. The school also celebrated individual brilliance, with Onyekachi Agbim and Tobechukwu Idoko being awarded the prestigious Most Valuable Player (MVP) titles for their exceptional performances.
The event was a celebration of talent and camaraderie, bringing together athletes, coaches, and supporters in a shared passion for basketball.
