Dell and AT&T Set to Invest in QuickKraft, An App Designed by Our Lekki Campus Students

In February, we reported that a team of 3 students from our Lekki campus — made up of Segun Balogun, Adewale Saliu and David Onukwugha — emerged as the overall best in Nigeria at the 2023 Conrad Challenge due to designing QuickKraft, which is an app that connects craftsmen with people who need their services. This achievement got them an invitation to showcase the app at this year’s Global Conrad Summit, so the team travelled to the US this April to attend the event at NASA’s Johnson / Kennedy Space Center. During the expo, lots of investors were impressed by the idea behind the app, and in the end, two American multinational tech companies, Dell and AT&T, signed up to invest in it.

Aside from taking part in the exhibition, other major highlights of the summit include product pitches and presentations; special recognition for Greensprings School by the Conrad Foundation; a tour of NASA Space Centre to see astronaut space workshops; and a question and answer session with Nancy Conrad, the founder of Conrad Foundation.

Commenting on the school’s participation at the summit, Mr Olalekan Aleilo and Mr Joshua Raimi, the team’s coaches that led them to the US said the experience has helped to further inspire the spirit of innovation in our students. The summit has also helped them to learn the inseparable working link between science, humanity and business — and how these elements work together to solve everyday problems.
