Father’s Day is a historical day observed all over the world to appreciate fathers and to encourage them not to relent in their contributions to the development of the family, especially the children. The celebration took a new turn as children, teachers and members of Greensprings School across Lekki, Ikoyi and Anthony campuses set out to honour fathers in an interesting manner on the 14th of June, 2019.
The event was organised to engage the fathers in sporting activities and competitions but the children and mothers were not left out as they also participated in cheering up their fathers during the games, thereby making it a fun-filled day. The various games included a question-and-answer session, tug of war, football games, amongst others. For the children, seeing their fathers engaged in such activities was really exciting to them as they laughed and screamed to cheer on.
It proceeded with a get together ceremony where short clips of videos were shown to remind the fathers of their roles and importance in the home, not just as a parent but also a friend to their children. The programme ended with an appreciation from the Heads of Schools to the parents.
