In a thrilling showcase of skill, determination, and sportsmanship, the Greensprings School Anthony Campus Girls’ basketball team has triumphed in the 19th edition of the Doregos Inter-School Basketball Championship, securing their spot in the highly anticipated final.
Organized by Doregos Private Academy, Ipaja, the championship kicked off on Saturday, November 4, with intense zonal preliminaries featuring twenty schools from different zones within Lagos and Ogun states. Our athletes, undeterred by the competition’s fierce nature, demonstrated outstanding skills, unwavering energy, and remarkable resilience throughout six games and extra times, ultimately earning them a well-deserved place in the final.
The journey to the championship final was no easy feat, as the Anthony Campus girls’ team successfully navigated past two formidable opponents with a display of teamwork and strategic prowess. The collective effort of the players and their unyielding spirit shone brightly on the court, earning them the admiration of spectators and fellow competitors alike.
The final showdown is scheduled to take place on February 8th, 2024, at Doregos Private Academy in Ayobo, Lagos. This eagerly awaited event promises to be a culmination of months of hard work, dedication, and passion for the game. We believe our girls will come home victorious, with the golden medals.
